Scott Wells
Scott brings to Bee Street Advisors decades of experience as a CFP® practitioner and instructor. His roles include advising clients on financial planning, managing their investment portfolios, and supporting others on the Bee Street Advisors team. Scott retired from owning and operating his own financial services company in early 2021. Embracing the challenges of growing Bee Street Advisors stemmed from instructing Marty Sergi in the College of Charleston‘s CFP® courses and consulting Marty’s entry into the investments side of the business.
Scott’s investment expertise spans across stocks, bonds, Exchange Traded Funds, mutual funds, interval funds, 529 Plans, alternative investment programs for Accredited Investors, and variable annuities. His stint at BB&T (now known as Truist) Trust headquarters in Raleigh provided experience with Trust client relationships. Scott maintains his insurance license for helping clients with fixed and fixed indexed annuities.
Born and raised in Illinois, Scott came to the Carolinas as an undergraduate at Duke University. Scott relied heavily on his analytical skills when developing and maintaining software systems for Duke Cardiologists and Oncologists in the 80s. Providing financial services to clients became his passion upon moving to Charleston in the 90s.
Scott completed the requirements for the Certified Kingdom Advisor® credential in 2015. He has been active for many years in Presbyterian churches, including Endowment Committee responsibilities. Along with publishing Biblical financial wisdom articles in Charleston periodicals, Scott has advised Charleston Southern University with establishing the CFP® undergraduate program in the Hans A. Nielsen Business School. Numerous CSU and College of Charleston academic and paid internships provided post-college career starts for students at 3 of Scott’s career stops.
